Water Pumps

Water pumps exert pressure on water to make it flow in a pipe or from a region of low pressure to one of higher pressure, as from a reservoir to the distribution network. The figure shows a simple reciprocating pump. The human heart has two pumps that are resposnsible for blood flow between the lungs and the heart and the rest of the body.
