Ride for Hope 2005 aims to raise funds in aid of The Senior Citizens' Hardship Fund. The fund assists needy elderly suffering from stroke and frailty, and to enhance the quality of their lives. Ride for Hope 2005 is in support of Toa Payoh and Geylang Senior Citizens' Health Care Centres. These health care centres are not-for-profit charitable organizations, currently serving about 70 stroke patients and frail elderly daily and have served more than 1,000 needy patients and elderly since 2002. The centres have recently in May 2004 started its 365-day rehabilitation services that include weekends and public holidays. Dr William Tan will be leading this fund-raising effort through a super-ultramarathon; 300km over 24 hours (6pm-6pm), together with a supporting group of cyclists. We are targetting to have at least 300 cyclists join in this effort to raise sufficient funds for the 2 centres. Click here to find out more or email Eric ( |
